Steps to follow Jesus

If you are interested in trusting Jesus it can be done in three easy steps, right now at church or wherever you are.

1.  Admit – that you have sin in your life. Simply put, sin is anything that separates us from God.

“All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3: 23).

“For the wages of sin is death” (Romans 6: 23).

2.  Believe – that Jesus is God’s only son and that He died on the Cross for our sins. God sent His one and only Son to walk on earth, live a perfect and sinless life, and then He died on the cross for our sin. God provided salvation for all who repent of their sins and place their faith in Christ.

“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Jesus Christ died for us” (Romans 5: 8).

3.  Confess – when we ask Jesus to be LORD (Master) of our lives we stop trusting our ways and start trusting everything in Jesus.

“That you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord’, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved” (Romans 10: 9). “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved” (Romans 10: 13).

If you believe in these and want to ask Jesus to be Master of your life here is a simple prayer for you to pray:

“Dear Father, I know I am a sinner. I realize that Jesus Christ the Lord died for my sins and rose again. By faith, I receive Jesus into my heart as my Savior, trusting in Him alone for my forgiveness of my sins and eternal life. Thank you for making me your child, thank you for giving me a home in heaven. Help me to rely on you for all things and to live for you. Amen”

If you prayed this prayer, may I encourage you to find a place to worship God and learn more about your decision.
